About

Display Fixes collects fixes for external monitor problems on Mac — missing resolutions, picture-by-picture, scaling and more — written and maintained by Yao, who ran into most of them on an ultrawide monitor.

Each page starts from the symptom, rules out the usual suspects (cables, ports, docks), explains the cause, and lists what macOS can do on its own, the paid tools and the free ones. Every page shows the hardware it was tested on; anything not tested is marked as such. Pages are drafted with AI assistance and then checked and edited by a human.

We also make Display Fixes Pro, a menu bar app for the picture-by-picture fix.
